11:33 pm - Remember Mafia????
Most of you who are friends with me here (except for a handful of Randoms) are folks I met in the Heroes forum on TWoP, particularly in the chaos-infused Mafia thread we created. Well, when TWoP PH'd itself, we wandered over to previously.tv, a new site that was founded by Glark and Wing Chun who had started TWoP in the first place So, come find us! We miss you!

6:40 am - Hey! Come back to HMM before it's gone 4evah!
If you've friended me on here, it's probably because you met me on TWoP, most likely in the Heroes Meet Market.  Well, with serious cancellation rumors swirling, it seems likely that the Heroes forum is liable to be PH'd at any moment.  SOOOooooooo.... PLEASE come back and say Hi one last time before it's locked for good!  It's still right here.  Hurry!  Time is running out!  We (or at least I) miss you!

I have posted the final portions of the 2008 Heroes Mafia Year-End Awards Poll. Here is an index to all the polls:

All you old-timers, please drop by and share your opinions for old times' sake! Polls will be open until midnight US Eastern time February 1. Final results will be posted following the East Coast broadcast of Heroes on Feb. 2, unless the groundhog sees his shadow that morning in which case either they will be posted on March 21, or we will rerun the whole poll until we get it right.

12:52 am - 2008 Heroes Mafia Year-End Awards are Under Way!
In case anyone reads this who used to participate in the Heroes Mafia games at TWoP, the 2008 Heroes Mafia Year-End Awards are underway. Part I: the Mod Awards has been posted on the Mafia LJ; parts II (Player Awards) and III (Everything Else) will be forthcoming, but I am too tired to put them up tonight.

Megathanks to keeptrying and RebelliousAngel for lots of help researching all the nominated events! I could not have done it without them!

11:41 pm - Baseball! Hee!
Sea Dogs win!  And, not only did the Red Sox also win, not only are the Yankees on a 7-game losing streak and in last place, but Joe Torre pulled Mariano Rivera after 21 pitches for, of all people, Mike "didn't we get rid of him?" Myers!

11:00 am - This foolish snowstorm...
Here is a picture I took off my backyard Thursday morning, before it started melting.  This was around the time we lost power.  Apologies to adinarj for losing her comment, but it wouldn't let me edit the entry.  This time I think I've gotten it!  Thanks to adinarj for the help!

10:38 am - Still no baseball...
They've cancelled again.  With highs today only around 40 they might not be able to get anything in before Monday, and that's not even considering that opening tomorrow means having Opening Day on Easter Sunday.  I'm glad we have the season tickets, though, because they say that tickets for Opening Day are good for whatever day they actually play the first game, so if you had tickets for Thursday, you're stuck wondering when you'll get to use them, if you're even able to.  At least, that's how they always did it, but I haven't seen any specific word about that in the cancellation stories.

11:09 pm - Frustrating...
Essentially, we had a foot of snow on Wednesday night, and they haven't been able to start the season yet.  Fuss and bother.  Hopefully they'll be able to play tomorrow; if not, they might not play until Monday night since I doubt they'll want to have Opening Day on Easter.

11:08 pm - Brace yourselves...
Okay, we picked up our season tickets to the Sea Dogs today; the season begins Thursday.  The practical upshot of this is that anyone reading this journal is probably going to hear a lot more about minor league baseball than they care about.

But at any rate, the field looks good, or at least as good as it ever looks this time of year.  They're still working on things, but the bulk of it looks done, and the grass looks dry enough to play on.  They've had some years when the snow melted so late, they had to bring in a helicopter to try to dry it out (it didn't work).

So, Thursday, we'll be back in our seats, and something vaguely resembling summer (except for the parkas and hot chocolate) will be here!

12:39 am - OK, this is really me...
Is this thing on?

OK, Item 1: I will probably use "Current Music" to hold "Book I am currently reading" instead.

I don't have an Item 2.
